After the saddening news that Grays Court Hotel and The Bow Room Restaurant, like many other places, were to close for a portion of this year, you may have thought we’d had a quiet time of it. In fact, we’ve been very busy preparing for our re-opening and some exciting new ventures. We’ve even appeared on BBC Look North, ITV News and had a visit from York’s Town Crier!
On the 16th of July, we officially opened our brand new Garden Bar, where guests can enjoy a refreshing cold drink in the sunshine, taking in stunning views of the historic city walls and the iconic York Minster. We are open every day from 12pm to 8pm, weather permitting, though we have had some guests brave it with their umbrellas!
Our hotel is also now open and welcoming guests, with the first overnight visitors checking-in on the 17th of July. We are absolutely delighted to see the house abuzz again and want to thank everyone for supporting us after such a difficult time.
The next step of our re-opening will be The Bow Room Restaurant, on the 10th of August. With a brand new, ever-changing, blind tasting menu featuring ingredients from our own garden. To view a sample menu and book a table click here: https://www.resdiary.com/restaurant/thebowroomrestaurant
Once again, we are so grateful for all the lovely words of support we have received over the past few months. We are looking forward to a busy rest of the year, and invite you all to join us for a visit sometime.
